Additional information has been released about a pit bull who was discovered hanging from a tree on the Department of Natural Resources property on March 21. According to Saturday’s Q13 Fox News, the victimized dog, who died after being aggressively sexually assaulted and asphyxiated, was named “Diamond,” and she was a therapy dog for an eight-year-old child.
On Saturday, a man suspected of being responsible for the heinous crime was arrested in Grays Harbor County following an extensive investigation which spanned several counties. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, is a convicted felon – his past charges include burglary, domestic violence and controlled substance violations.
The person arrested had taken Diamond in for a relative who was searching for dog-friendly housing. The three-year-old dog was killed within the first week of staying with the suspect.
Pasado’s Safe Haven, which assisted in the cruelty investigation, broke the news of the suspect’s arrest on Saturday stating: “BREAKING – SUSPECT ARRESTED! A suspect was just arrested in the brutal rape and murder of a dog we had been calling “Justice.” We now know the dog’s name was “Diamond.”
The person taken into custody is being held without bail.
