Cairo is a highly intelligent and faithful dog. Many people wonder how much this military working dog is worth in terms of dollars and cents. Perhaps the best way to answer this question is with the old quote that goes something like “if you must ask, you can’t afford it.” Of course, this particular Top Dog would never be placed up for sale at any rate.

Cairo is the infamous dog hero who accompanied SEAL Team Six on their raid of Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. This heroic pooch was born and bred for the sole purpose of working as a Military Dog. These facts are what puts Cairo in an essentially priceless category, as it would take approximately $20,000 to purchase such a dog, if he were for sale.

As a puppy, Cairo spent many years training for the aforementioned duties. Similar to all

Superheroes, Cairo wears a “cape.” The latter in this case is essentially a custom designed coat of body armor, featuring a price tag of approximately $30,000.

Cairo’s customize working gear was developed to ensure that he would be bulletproof when working. Even though it does not give the dog the ability to scale tall buildings with one leap, it does enable him to record high-definition missions, hear through concrete, and obtain visuals, even in the dark of night.

The Navy Seals among other special forces throughout the various branches of service are high-ranking members of the military. They train long and hard to be the best at what they do. The dogs that are employed by the military for missions such as the one Cairo participated in are no different in this respect. Military dogs begin training at a very young age and there are currently over 2,500 dogs being used in positions such as the one Cairo holds with over 500 of these dogs being deployed in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Each of these dogs is regarded as a full member of the military as a result of the work that they do.
