New Life Is Amazing For One Partially Blind Dog

Meet Bryan, a partially blind German shepherd often spotted bumping into furniture, or sniffing his way around his new Phoenix home.

But as the loveable pooch can probably attest, better blind in a home than at the shelter.

Bryan was the last to be adopted out of more than 300 dogs during a Thanksgiving weekend adoption event. According to the Arizona Humane Society, he was having a hard time finding a forever home due to his disability.

But the 5-year-old pup’s luck turned around when Patti Mooers and her husband arrived at the shelter.

In an interview with KPHO, Mooers said she and her husband are German shepherd fanatics and have had experience with disabled dogs. Their previous German shepherd eventually lost use of its hind legs, and was confined to a wheelchair.

“Just go meet them and see if it’s a good fit,” Mooers said of disabled dogs. “They have so much love to give and they deserve a good home.”

Within 48 hours of his adoption, Bryan, has made himself at home with Mooers.

“He’s smelling everything. He bumps into a few things but he seems real content,” Mooers said.
