Actress Salma Hayek is hoping to find out who shot and killed her nine-year-old dog just over a week ago. On Friday, Hayek utilized her Instagram account to break the tragic news about her dog’s untimely and cruel death.
Hayek wrote, “I haven’t posted for a week as I been mourning the death of my dog, Mozart who I personally delivered out of his mother’s womb. He was found dead in my ranch last Friday with a shot close to his heart.” Hayek stated that she hopes that her dog’s death will be investigated by the authorities near her ranch in Washington state, “I am hoping that the Washington State authorities do justice to this wonderful dog whom in 9 years never bit or attacked anyone. He loved his territory and never strayed away…he was the most loving and loyal companion. He didn’t deserve a slow and painful death.”
As reported in Entertainment Weekly, the actress is an animal lover who owns many pets, including horses, alpacas, parrots, fish, dogs and a cat. According to the Seattle Times, it is unclear exactly where Hayek’s ranch is, or if an official report with the local authorities was filed.
