Sheriff Eases Pain Of Man’s Loss By Adopting New Dog
WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. (WLUK) — After a man’s dog was suddenly shot and killed, the Winnebago County sheriff introduced him to a new four-legged companion.
Earlier last month, a 78-year-old man was walking with his two dogs in a farm field when one of his dogs, Antone, was shot and killed.
While authorities continue to investigate who’s responsible for Antone’s death, Sheriff John Matz stepped in to try to ease the pain of the man’s loss by adopting a new dog from a southern Wisconsin rescue.
On April 1, the man welcomed his new puppy, Lovebug.
The investigation into the identity of the shooter is ongoing.
