A handsome senior dog named “Stevie,” has a sad and lonely past. The dog, who is estimated to be 11 years of age, spent his first eight years of life on the end of a chain – a “life” that can truly only be described as an existence. According to Stevie’s Petfinder biography, by the time that the sad situation was discovered, Stevie was emaciated and suffering from severe heart worms.
Stevie was rescued from that dismal existence and today, he is waiting for a brighter future at the Darlington County Humane Society in South Carolina. Stevie’s Petfinder bio reads, “Today, I am doing AWESOME! I successfully underwent heart worm treatment and as you can see, I have added on some pounds. I am still not terrific with other dogs in general. I can play well with more dominant and larger dogs (ones I cannot bully! HA) but submissive or smaller dogs are easy targets for me, so best to keep them away from me. I am really best suited in a home where I can be the only the doggy around.”
Stevie is being boarded at a facility for the humane society – he is relying on the kindness of strangers to share his information and help him find a special person who is in the right situation to take him in. Anyone with questions, or who is interested in offering Stevie a home is asked to reach out to [email protected].
