It’s the most wonderful time of the year: National Puppy Day.

I have to confess i am a real softy when it comes to puppies. I keep rescuing them but falling in love at the same time and wanting to keep them all! It’s true i am a rescue fail.. although my 5 dogs would tell you differently as they all watch me type this from their individual couch spots (smh). Anyway Thats why this day is so important to me because it reminds me of my own little pups all those years ago. Remember to adopt and don’t shop!

To mark the day, which falls on March 23, InsideEdition.com is looking back at some of the most heartwarming and inspiring dog stories of the year.

Among the pups that made us smile was the chocolate Labradorthat gave birth to a green puppy.

“We’d never heard of it before and couldn’t believe our eyes,” owner Elaine Cooper said. “We thought it was a black Labrador at first when it was in the sack. Then when she licked the placenta off, the pup looked emerald green.”

They later named the green puppy Fifi, after Princess Fiona, from Shrek.

Another mother dog gave birth to a tremendous 19-puppy litter in 2016, while a puppy born in a New York State shelter had an image of herself on her ear.

Another set of rescue pups joined a bridal party, which posed with the dogs instead of taking traditional photots with flowers.

And there was also the Uber driver who surprised passengers with puppies from a California shelter as they took a ride around town.
